A Simple Infographic

New York Times Infographic

The above infographic is simple but detailed. That is the most appealing infographic to me, one that ensures simplicity. Looking over several different infographics, I noticed that many were confusing. Some presented too much information at once. Others required too much strategic maneuvering of the given graph. This particular graphic allows the viewer to single out the data they want to look at. This allows for a viewer to easily look at any particular specifics they may take interest in. Such convenience is needed to make infographics relevant to all users.

Another issue I saw in other graphics were too many colors or altering fonts and font sizes. This isn’t the case in this graphic. Thus, it becomes even simpler to absorb and observe. The importance is on the facts, and there is no extra fancy too interfere with this.
