Academic honesty and disability policies

Academic honesty

As a student at the University of Georgia, you agree to abide by UGA’s academic honesty policy and procedures known as “A Culture of Honesty.” All members of the University community have a responsibility to uphold and maintain an honest academic environment and to report when dishonesty occurs. Where suspected violations of the academic honesty policy occur, appropriate procedures are designed to protect the integrity of the academic process while ensuring due process. Academic dishonesty includes plagiarism, cheating, lying, tampering, stealing, receiving unauthorized assistance from any other person, or using any source of information that is not common policy. Violations of the academic honesty policy will result in an F in the course and possible expulsion from the University. UGA’s academic policy is at www.uga.edu/honesty.

Disability policy

The University of Georgia is committed to providing equal educational opportunities for qualified students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal laws including the American Disabilities Act. Help for disabled students is available from the Disability Resource Center. More information is available at www.dissvcs.uga.edu. If you have a particular issue that needs to be accommodated, please share it with me as early as possible in the semester.
